Yeah, Dave. Karaoke. Somewhere in Connecticut and I recall Bob Weinberg telling me, after talking with his wife Phyllis, that it was 65 degrees in Chicago. And its probably a good thing that nobody currently posting on SU was there for that insane night of the madness that is karaoke.

Thanks, Sully. The way I'm getting physically, I might just started reading my handwritten stories on YouTube in between waterboardings. I dunno, I see you and a few others doing the job of setting the scene. I can certainly see the blues and greens of Minnesota. Glad you liked this one, I should have asked everyone in passing when their first convention was OR which early convention they remembered the most. Be well, Sully. --Wayne

Yeah, I remember all of those folks. Kathleen Jurgens published a story of mine (finally) in her 7th issue. Peggy Nadramia was the first editor I submitted a horror story to because it was recommended I do so by Jerry Williamson. I never sold anything to Peggy, but I kept trying, and it was her Karaoke machine you and I sang Elvis to at the 2nd WHC...the one with all the snow.

I love the way you chronicle things...Sully is right, you have that touch, that detail-oriented, find just the right thing to remember touch...

Never lose that.

What Raymond Chandler did for LA and Loren Estleman does for Detroit, you sort of do for everyone everywhere. More like John Cheever did as chronicler for an upper middle class, I guess. Wherever you focus your camera, you come up with little gems of association, Wayne. That kind of power of observation and expression needs to be given free license to roam the Earth. You could write across genres and mainstream, pal. So, do it. Or are you suffering from that watchamacallit -- universal plight of the world not paying enough attention yet? If that's the case, just keep adding to the body of your work and trust that world will catch up to you...
