Thank you very much for the reply. I look forward to reading future posts! :) I sincerely hope that your book is published, I will definitely pick up a copy.
Is there any chance that you would be willing to let me read a copy of your manuscript? I can't even describe how much I would love to read this book.
Regardless, thank you for the posts.

Thank you for the kind words, Chris. The book is in the hands of my agent. It really is a full length study. I think you'd love it. Keep an eye on the blog, as I'm likely to keep posting snippets.

Janet,
Thank you very much for posting snippets of your interview. I am an aspiring writer who has made it a point to study the work of Michael Crichton. I can't tell you how beneficial it is to hear him comment on his own work and writing process. Very few interviews he gave ever went into any real depth, which is a shame, as he was such a marvelous writer. I applaud you for your dedication and hard work in conducting a worthwhile interview with a fascinating subject when given the opportunity.
Is there any chance that your proposed book will be published in the future? I hope it will be, because I will be first in line to buy it. If not, would you ever consider posting the entire interview transcript? Now that Michael has unfortunately passed away, your interview seems to be the only source for information from the man himself. It would be an important contribution on this subject.
I sent a personal e-mail to your website. I’m not sure if you received it, as your e-mail address doesn't seem to work there, but I sent it to your administrator. Hopefully he will pass it along to you. Please e-mail me to let me know your thoughts on this subject. Thank you again for all your hard work and talent.
                                                                                                     Best Wishes,
                                                                                                                            Chris

Janet,
I have always wanted to know how things worked, and that includes how and what creative persons think while creating. Your piece filled a large slot. Thank you for the peek and then some behind Mr. Crichton's curtain.

Thank you so much for posting this and your other two articles on Michael Crichton! I’ve been a great admirer of his work for most of my life. And Travels is also my favorite of all his books. I’ve been trying to find every word Michael Crichton has ever written or uttered in an interview. I’ve been at this for years and I’m still finding things. When I read your articles about your interview with Crichton, I felt like heaven dropped jewels in my lap. Thank you again!

Fascinating, Janet, and timeless. The bit about other people weighing in on what Crichton should write and telling him jarred my own consciousness. When I think about all the books friends and fans have enthusiastically insisted I should write, a whole other side of me takes shape. What they say always goes beyond what I had thought or planned. You have an inclination to smile gently and thank them while thinking that they don't really know what they're talking about. But when you look back, it's easier to see where they're coming from and to recognize with a little shock that they are mostly right! It really adds up to a profile of yourself -- what you do and have done -- and nuances of how you relate to and impact others. It's just hard to see inside your skin the same way you look to others and to get the proportions right. I think Michael was trying to say that, or at least had experienced some of the same surprise I'm describing here. He's lucky to have had a chronicler named Janet Berliner...
