Thanks, Flamingo. You iz a sweet kid. And I won't tell a soul how you chopped down the back 40 and destroyed your house while all the squirrels chuckled and hollered "Timber!"

-- Sully (Thomas Sullivan)

Well, life got in the way of this post. But no matter how you frame it, one hell of a story even if it was a bit part.

That's the thing about good storytellers and good storytelling. Take the smallest experience and it becomes a three part opera in the write hands (Ms. Pelling, who incidentally was my third grade English teacher, intended).

Nice job Ichabod.

Frank

Man, aren't you a day-lifter. Thank you, sir. Kind words from the straight shooter hisself mean something to me. Especially about the newsletter, which, once again, is receiving more email response and nice things said then the column. Anybody want to get on my monthly newsletter list just drop me your address at mn333mn@earthlink.net.

-- Sully (Thomas Sullivan)

Hi Sully,
A nice balance of nature-lovin' pearls (yes, pearls) of wisdom in your Sullygram, and then a grin-crackin' entertainment in your SU column.
Thanks for showing up so dependably and regularly on my computer -- oh how I love the middle of the month!
Hope your summer continues to be of the finest kind,
Mark

Thanks, Beth. Glad I missed the ark flick as an extra. Sounds like a long enough gig to resemble real work. Hope your coffers were filled as well as getting the credit, considering how much time on task you put in.

-- Sully (Thomas Sullivan)

Ah, love the extra stories. And when all is said and done, wasn't it a total hoot being the bartender?? I mean, nobody else in the entire world can say they were the bartender in "Presumed Innocent!" As I've mentioned on an earlier blog, I'm an extra in the upcoming "Evan Almighty," and the wardrobe trailer each morning was insane proof that people will do anything to get in a film, even wearing things you wouldn't be caught dead in on the street. At least with your bartender gig you were indoors; with us, we were outdoors in the scorching heat (and sometimes freezing cold) watching as the ark morphed from skeleton to near completion (the rest was done with CGI). Steve Carell was a good sport, cheerfully cursing us (his "neighbors") from the bow of the ark; Tom Shadyac the director was one of the nicest guys to come out of Hollywood. I did the "Evan Almighty" extra gig for two and a half months; got up between 4:30 and 5 many mornings, ate a lot of Craft Service food and free snacks, drank a lot of smoothies, and the pigment of the red clay of the ground around the ark clung to my legs for a good month after all was said and done. Met some great extras and some completely insane ones. Got to actually like my "flood clothes" after a period of time - pink paisley capris and gold shoes. And it was all such fun. Sully, you should have gotten your credit. But what the hell, ya got your check!

Beth

No late-night drinks. I only imbibe on nectar from silver souls after sunset. Freeze-frame away. I'll be the blur over-acting in the background.

-- Sully (Thomas Sullivan)
